No. Residents who wish to keep their hostel place must pay hostel fee by month.

Do I need to pay hostel fee if I defer check-in date or programme admission date?
A
If you defer for less than one month and wish to keep the hostel place, you should pay hostel fee starting from the official check-in date. If you defer the programme for more than one month, you may wish to apply for withdrawing from the hostel.

How can I change payment method?

You may apply for changing payment method by returning the “Change of Payment Method for PGH Hostel Fee” (Part B) to PGH counters or to enquiry.pgh@cuhk.edu.hk.
