Dear PGH Residents,
PGH Activity: Mid-Autumn Silk Flower Fan Workshop | Weave Blossoms into the Moonlight
Workshop Theme:
Blend tradition and creativity in our special Mid-Autumn Silk Flower Fan Making class! You’ll create a unique fan using delicate silk flowers and accessories. All materials will be provided — bring your creativity! No experience necessary—we’ll guide you step by step!
Cultural Background:
The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節), dating back over 3,000 years, celebrates the moon, harvest, and family reunion. The round moon symbolizes completeness and harmony, while the round fan (團扇), known as tuánshàn, has been a traditional art form since the Han Dynasty. It represents not only cooling elegance but also unity and poetic beauty – much like the moon itself.

• Decorate a round silk flower fan with silk flowers and metal accessories
• Bring home a beautiful and meaningful piece of art
